Over-The-Counter Drug Coverage

We cover six popular OTC drugs.

Medical evidence shows that some over-the-counter (OTC) drugs work just as well as their costly brand-name counterparts. The Trust believes it just makes financial sense to cover them. As a result, you can expect us to reimburse these 9 popular OTC drugs:

• Cetirizine (generic Zyrtec)
• Loratadine (generic Claritin)

• Alaway
• Ketotifen
• Zaditor

• Lansoprazole OTC
• Omeprazole OTC 20mg capsules
• Prevacid 24HR 
• Prilosec OTC

Talk with your health care provider about whether these drugs are appropriate for you. As Tier 1 drugs, these drugs require only modest copayments. In fact, you can receive a 90-day supply of these drugs for only one copayment at retail pharmacies.

How to obtain OTCs through your plan

• Obtain a doctor's prescription.
• Take your prescription to your local pharmacy and let them know that the drug is covered by your health plan.
• The pharmacist will submit the claim to our prescription drug administrator, collect the appropriate copayment from you, and will dispense the medication.
