When To Call Us

You'll need to call for preauthorization and insurance coverage changes.

To protect you from unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses and to let you know whether proposed medical services are covered, you or your physician are required to call us at 800.279.4000 before you receive certain medical services and prescription drugs.

Hospital admission notification

If you or anyone in your family is expected to stay overnight in a hospital, call us at 800.279.4000 before you're admitted.

You will want to call at least five days in advance whenever possible to keep everything running smoothly. Since this notification is a plan requirement, your reimbursement for services may be reduced unless you notify us. Please check your policy for specific notification requirements for maternity-related admissions and emergencies.

Other insurance coverage

If you or a family member is covered under more than one insurance plan, be sure to call the Trust so we can coordinate benefits with the other insurer. If we pay as a primary insurer when we shouldn't, we may need to ask you to refund money we have paid in error.
