Life Insurance Benefits
Here's how they work.
Waiver of premiums due to total disability
If you are totally disabled before age 60—and remain totally disabled for nine consecutive months—your premiums are waived beginning the first of the month following a nine-month elimination period.
Eligibility to continue the group coverage lasts for two years if the total disability occurred after age 60. A conversion plan is available at the end of the period. Please see your certificate for more information.
Accelerated life insurance benefit
If you become terminally ill, a portion of your life insurance may be paid while you are still alive. You can use these benefits to help with:
- Financing medical treatment and nursing care
- Covering day-to-day living expenses
- Settling affairs
- Prearranging a funeral or cremation
Optional benefits include:
- Accidental death and dismemberment
- Additional life coverage
- Dependent life insurance
- Domestic partner coverage
Ask your employer today if you are covered by a WEA Trust life insurance plan.
