WEA-MedPlus
An option for retirees.
Finally, a plan to protect you from high medical expenses.
Are you or your spouse age 65 or older? Do you have Medicare as your primary insurance? If so, you may qualify for WEA-MedPlus—health insurance for public sector retirees and their spouses.
How it works
Premium rates for WEA-MedPlus are based, in part, on medical costs where you live and receive your medical care. If you move from one area to another, your rates may either increase or decrease. Premium rates are adjusted every January 1st and are guaranteed for that calendar year.
After Medicare pays as the primary insurer, and an annual $100 plan deductible is met—that's right, just $100 deductible—then all covered medical expenses are paid at 100% of our reasonable and customary (R&C) fee limits.
WEA-MedPlus does not include coverage for prescription drugs. If you need prescription drug coverage, we recommend that you enroll in Medicare Part D.
