Dental Plan Benefits

Discover how comprehensive and flexible your plan really is.

As a WEA Trust dental plan member, you receive comprehensive coverage for a wide array of dental services. Here's a summary of what your $1000 individual maximum benefit covers:

Preventive services

For each 12-month benefit period, you receive:

• 2 periodic oral examinations
• 2 sets of bitewing X-rays
• 2 prophylaxes (teeth cleanings)
• 2 in-office topical applications of fluoride for your covered dependent children under age 19.

In addition, we cover sealants applied once every 5 years to the bicuspids and molars of covered dependent children under age 17.

Diagnostic services

You can trust us to cover these medically necessary diagnostic dental services:

• 1 panoramic X-ray, full mouth X-ray, or full mouth series - once in any consecutive 24-month period
• Periapical X-rays
• X-rays that are needed to diagnose and provide covered treatment of dental disease or injury
• Pulp vitality tests
• Office visits or consultations in conjunction with covered services

Basic services

We cover these diagnostic services when we find them to be medically necessary, medically appropriate, and cost-effective:

• Amalgam fillings
• Composite/resin fillings on any tooth except a molar
• Extraction of teeth
• Oral surgery
• Stainless steel crowns
• Local or general anesthesia or analgesia administered in connection with a covered service
• Space maintainers for covered dependent children under age 19
• Pulpotomies and root canal therapy
• Periodontal treatment
• Denture repair
• Bruxism (teeth clenching or grinding) appliances

We also reimburse for occlusal adjustments up to $100 lifetime maximum for each covered individual.

Restorative services

Covered at 80%:

• Fillings
• Extractions
• Periodontal

Covered at 50%:

• Crowns (not including implant crowns)
• Onlays 

Orthodontics

50% coverage for dependents up to age 19, up to an individual lifetime maximum of $1,500.

Note: WEA Trust has no dental deductible. You may see any dentist, but reimbursement for non-network providers is limited by our reasonable and customary fee schedule. There is an annual benefit maximum limit of $1,000 per individual.
