How does sick leave affect my benefits?

Answer:

Your sick leave, vacation pay, and other forms of compensation do not affect your short term disability (STD) benefits. Sick leave benefits are integrated under the terms of your long term disability (LTD) policy. This simply means, once you satisfy your elimination period, we reduce your LTD benefit by the amount of any sick leave benefits paid to you for the same period in which you are eligible for LTD benefits.
