| Complementary and alternative medicine discount network |
 Trust health plan members have free access to a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) discount program. This program is not an insurance plan, but rather a Trust-sponsored discount network allowing you to save money on services not covered by your health plan. The Trust makes the CAM discount network available in response to our members expressing interest in both conventional and nonconventional answers to their health care needs.
What is CAM?
The popularity of CAM is on the rise. Studies show that 21% to 50% of patients who make office visits to family physicians have used or are currently using alternative therapies.
CAM practices (such as acupuncture, massage, holistic therapies, yoga, and tai chi) recognize that the connection between mind and body are important to the healing process. These therapies teach people techniques to help manage pain and reduce stress, allowing people to take a more active role in their health care.
Available discounts
We contract with American WholeHealth Networks who will provide our members with access to a nationwide group of alternative medicine practitioners with more than 28,000 affiliated practitioners in 36 CAM disciplines.
The CAM discount network features discounts of up to 30% on a variety of complementary and alternative procedures such as massage, holistic therapies, and acupuncture. Plus, you can save on health and wellness services such as fitness centers, personal trainers, yoga and tai chi classes, nutritional counseling, and vitamins.
Taking advantage of the CAM discount network
- Simply visit weatrust.com and click on "Discount networks" under Quick Links. You can also call American WholeHealth customer service at (800) 274-7526.
- Once you access the CAM network on the Web, click on your area of interest or use the search engine to find participating practitioners in your area.
- Next, simply show your WEA Trust health insurance card when receiving products or services, and pay the discounted price.
