Tobacco cessation

Thinking about quitting smoking? You're headed in the right direction–the decision to quit is the first step. But where should you go next?

Contact the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line
  • The Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line is a tobacco counseling service available to Wisconsin residents at no cost.
  • The Quit Line may be reached at (800) 784-8669 (QUIT-NOW).
  • The Quit Line is available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily (excluding some holidays).
  • The Quit Line also offers Web coaching, discussion forums and more at its Web site: WiQuitLine.org.
WEA Trust offers free cessation aids
  • Talk to your health care provider about getting a prescription for a tobacco cessation aid.
  • If you are a Trust health plan member 18 years of age or older, the Trust provides three months worth of cessation aids at no cost once every 12 months when you obtain them at a participating pharmacy. The aids are distributed one month at a time to be used consecutively.
  • The aids available to you through the Trust include the non-nicotine drug Bupropion, Chantix, the nicotine patch, gum, nasal spray, inhaler, or lozenge.
  • To determine whether a specific pharmacy is a member of the network, ask the pharmacy or log in to our prescription drug administrator’s Web site at caremark.com.
  • If you obtain a prescription from a nonparticipating pharmacy, you'll have to pay the entire cost of the prescription and submit a claim form to our prescription drug administrator. We will reimburse you the amount we would pay a participating pharmacy, less any applicable copayment. Click here for a claim form.
Increase your odds of success
Finally, research shows combined use of counseling and cessation aids will increase your odds of successfully quitting tobacco. Please plan to use the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit line with your cessation aids for your best chance at kicking the habit for good.
