Accomplishments

The Trust has a history of expressing its commitment to members through deeds. Here are some examples:
- We have the fewest number of complaints filed with the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) compared with other group health insurers who serve public school employees.
- We were first in the state to offer a disability plan that replaces 90% of a disabled employee's income.
- Our health plan covered psychiatric and chiropractic services long before the law required insurance companies to offer such benefits.
- We were the first to scientifically research and prove that individuals who have timely access to medical information can make informed, cost-effective health care decisions. The study earned us the prestigious C. Everett Koop National Health Award in 1995.
- We were the first insurer in Wisconsin to cover transplants as a standard benefit.
- We use the group purchasing power of our members to lower fees for our tax-sheltered annuity (TSA) program and to gain access to mutual funds that would otherwise be out of reach for most investors.
- We are a leader in helping public school employees calculate TSA contribution limits and in assisting school districts with current IRS rules and guidelines.
- We made long term care protection affordable by offering a true group plan.
