WEA-MedPlus eligibility for Trust health plan members
If you’re covered by a Trust health plan when you retire, you and your spouse each must:
- be 65 or older.
- be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B.
- have no dependent children for whom you want coverage.
- be currently covered under a WEA Trust group health plan; OR you have met the three criteria listed above and are currently covered under a group health plan with an employer who is switching to Trust coverage.
When can I enroll in WEA-MedPlus?
You can enroll any time as long as you meet the eligibility criteria described above. However, changing circumstances may affect enrollment. For example, if your former employer changes insurance carriers and you decide to stay with the Trust, you must enroll in WEA-MedPlus within 30 days of the termination of your former employer’s group plan.
