Trust Announces Strongest Renewal Season in Last Decade

Madison—The WEA Trust, a Wisconsin-created, Wisconsin-based, not-for-profit insurance company which provides quality services to public employees and their families, has reported a significant increase in the number of new school districts that have chosen the Trust for their insurance coverage.

“As school districts across the state look for cost-effective insurance solutions, a growing number are turning to the WEA Trust to meet their needs. From Dodgeland to Wisconsin Rapids, the Trust has gained business in record numbers” said Kathryne McGowan, WEA Trust Vice President of Marketing and Product Development.

The WEA Trust is the third-largest group health insurer in the state’s insurance plan, which is an option for state employees in 59 counties. The Trust has a significant share in the public school district market, in addition to municipal markets across the state.

McGowan went on to say, “We have had a very strong success rate in markets we hadn’t had a presence in previously. This demonstrates that in the Wisconsin group insurance marketplace, our competitive pricing and products set us apart, and shows that we are well-positioned to aggressively compete in the statewide marketplace.”

Examples of new additions to the WEA Trust include the school districts of Random Lake, Waupun, Wisconsin Rapids, Two Rivers, and the Kenosha Unified School District, among others.

The WEA Trust’s new business in July totaled nearly 10,000 members.
