If possible, obtain a copy of the employee’s and/or spouse’s Medicare card and send it to our office. We will review the employee’s record to determine if a change to a Medicare premium rate classification is appropriate. If the disabled employee was eligible for waiver of premium, the waiver of premium benefit will end and premium will again be due when he or she becomes eligible for Medicare benefits.
If a participant is eligible for Medicare benefits but isn’t enrolled or doesn’t wish to enroll in Medicare, please call our office for assistance in getting him or her to enroll. The procedure and the impact on the participant’s coverage will vary with each situation.
