FAQs

Who should consider participating in the WEA Trust Low Back Pain Program?

The WEA Trust Low Back Pain Program is a scientifically-based exercise program designed for members with mild to moderate low back pain to help alleviate pain and decrease symptoms. This program is not intended to replace evaluation by your healthcare provider for anyone whose pain began following a recent injury.

If your healthcare provider has suggested you engage in low-impact exercise to reduce your back pain, the WEA Trust Low Back Pain Program might be a good fit for you. You can perform the exercises in your own home, and at your own pace. You don’t need special equipment or weights, and you won’t have to miss work or pay a copay for physical therapy appointments.

Exercise is recommended by the American Medical Society1 and numerous clinical studies2,3 as a first-line treatment for low back pain. Simply stated, targeted exercise is one of the most effective treatments for low back pain. The WEA Trust Low Back Pain Program provides fully supported exercise programs tailored to your specific type of low back pain.

Yes. All aspects of the WEA Trust Low Back Pain Program are fully secure, including registration, screening, and the Kiio Mobile app.

What happens after I register?

Typically, your registration is validated immediately and you are taken directly to the online screening process. In the rare case in which eligibility for the program cannot be immediately validated, your registration is sent to WEA Trust for manual validation. This may take up to five business days.

I was not taken directly to screening - Why?

In rare instances, your registration requires manual validation by WEA Trust. Once your registration is validated you will receive an email from Kiio with a link to complete the screening process (check your spam/junk email folders if you do not see it in your inbox). If you do not receive this email within five business days after registering, please contact WEA Trust at 800-279-4000.

Why is there a screening?

The online screening questions are used to gather information about your symptoms and to determine if the program is appropriate for you.

What does screening involve?

The online screening should only take you 5-10 minutes. You will be asked questions about your general health and your low back pain symptoms.
